Easter Weekend Gas Prices Around Philly Cheapest Since 2004
Traveling for the holiday weekend? You're in luck. Although gas prices are slowly rising, these are the cheapest Easter prices in 12 years.

PHILADELPHIA, PA –– Gas prices have slowly climbed around the nation and throughout the Philadelphia region, although they will still be at their lowest point on Easter weekend since 2004, according to AAA.
The national average price just jumped over $2.00 for the first time in 2016 on Thursday, and Philadelphia's average is up to $2.09, AAA said.
“Americans tend to travel more this time of year. In addition to celebrating Good Friday and Easter, many families also take road trips for spring break. As they hit the road, they will still pay the cheapest prices for gasoline for this time of year since 2004,” said Jana Tidwell, AAA Mid-Atlantic’s Manager of Public and Government Affairs, in a press release. “The recent uptick in the average retail price of gasoline can be attributed in part to another rite of spring: the seasonal switchover from winter-grade to summer grade gasoline.”
