Germantown Coffee Shop Owner Writes Letter To Thief: Report

After the shop was completely ransacked of all valuables on two occasions, the owner says he wants to help the thief: by offering him a job.

GERMANTOWN -- A Germantown coffee shop owner has written a letter to the thieves that have ransacked his store twice while it’s been under construction, according to a report.

Owner Luke Smith said that both times, the shop was stripped of all its valuables, including copper pipes on the ceiling, the report states.

Smith added that there is nearly no way for him to stop someone who “really wants to get in,” so he wants to appeal to their conscience, 6 ABC reports.

The letter he posted to the front door was meant to inform the thief that there was a human being that the robberies were hurting, but that he wants to help the thief, the report states.

Smith also included $20 with the note and an offer of a job at the construction site, in hopes that if the thief returns, they will think twice about robbery.
