'Goodnight Wissahickon Valley Park' Book Published

A children's book about the Wissahickon has officially hit the shelves, and a launch party is set for this Saturday.

"Goodnight Wissahickon Valley Park" tells the story of Wissahickon starting in the morning, meandering through the park's many landmarks with a family of four, and ending the book at night.

'"This book is sure to become a favorite bedtime story," say organizers of the book launch with the Friends of the Wissahickon.

FOW has worked to protect and steward the Wissahickon for over 90 years. Proceeds from the sale of the book will go towards caring for the park.

The launch party will take place on Saturday, September 10 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Wissahickon Environmental Center. Register here. The party will include nature hikes, a scavenger hunt, face paintings, light refreshments, readings of the book, and more.
