Kildares in Manayunk Shuts Down

MANAYUNK, PA -- Kildare's Irish Pub on Main Street in Manayunk is reportedly closing its doors after 12 years in business.

Philly.com reports that Saturday, September 4 was the last day of business for one of the more crowded bars in downtown Manayunk.

A email posted to Reddit mentions "deterioration" of the building.

Owner Dave Magrogan, who sold a West Chester Kildare's last year and still owns one in Scranton, told Philly.com that the cost of repairs couldn't be justified.

He is considering turning the operation into a Red Star Craft House, a chain of which he already operates out of the Exton Square Mall, the email states.

Kildare's, located on 4417 on Main Street, opened in 2004.
