LGBT-Friendly Crosswalks Come To Philly
Eight crosswalks, located in the "Gayborhood" area of the city, have been painted rainbow colors, Philadelphia Gay News reported.

Pedestrians in the 13th and Locust Street area of Philadelphia were greeted with a colorful surprise Thursday.
Eight crosswalks, located in the ”Gayborhood” area of the city, have been painted rainbow colors, Philadelphia Gay News reported.
The crosswalks, in support of the city’s LGBT community, will be officially dedicated the Annual Reminders Block Party on July 5, being held in honor of the 50th anniversary of the country’s first LGBT-rights demonstrations, the Philadelphia Inquirer said.

The crosswalks were made possible by Philly Pride Presents and the City of Philadelphia, according to Philadelphia Gay News.
“We know that other cities have installed rainbow crosswalks, and we have been trying to do the same in Philadelphia for a long time,” Philly Pride Presents executive director Franny Price told Philadelphia Gay News. “It will add a little bounce to our steps as we walk the streets in the Gayborhood.”
