Lifeguard Supervisor Sexually Assaulted Teen Employee: Police
Michael Daniels, a lifeguard supervisor with Philly's Parks and Recreation Department, is accused of sexually assaulting a teen lifeguard.

PHILADELPHIA – A Philadelphia Parks and Recreation lifeguard supervisor has been arrested and charged after allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old lifeguard over the summer, according to Philadelphia Police.
Police said Michael Daniels, 35, of the 5100 block of Delancey was arrested and charged with felony contact with minor, felony corruption of minors, and indecent assault on Monday after the victim came forward recently.
Daniels was working as a supervisor at the John Kelly pool on the 4200 block of the Avenue of the Republic when he allegedly touched the 16-year-old victim on several occasions between July 16 and Aug. 22, according to police.

Police said Daniels' job was during summertime only and that he has been in that position since 2013.
Daniels also worked at the Marian Anderson Recreation Center, 740 S. 17th St., on Aug. 20 and Aug. 21, as well, police said.

Police said in cases such as this there may be additional victims and police are encouraging parents and the public to contact them with any information on any similar instances.
Daniels remains in custody after failing to pay 10 percent of $25,000 bail, which was set at his preliminary arraignment Tuesday, court records show.
He is slated to appear for his preliminary hearing on Oct. 20, according to court records.
