Al of the fun begins Saturday, Feb. 3 with an entire day of deliciousness.
Residents and guests are invited to taste their way down Main Street to try all of the different dishes and cocktails inspired by the Girl Scouts’ signature cookies.
Select stores will have ballots so you can vote for the best use of cookies, so make sure you remember which dishes and cocktails stand out to you.
In addition, there will be a cookie booth outside of the Manayunk Development Corporation – 4312 Main St. – from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
For those who can’t make it to the kick-off event, they stock up on boxes of your favorite Girl Scout cookies all month long. Every Thursday in February select stores, apartment complexes, and fitness studios will host cookie booths from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
"We are pleased to partner with the Manayunk Development Corporation and local businesses to provide our Girl Scouts the opportunity to meet and learn from successful female business owners," Elizabeth D’Angel, Director of Marketing and Communications at Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania, said. "Strong female role models and mentors are a fundamental part of the Girl Scout leadership experience, and through this partnership, our new century of girl entrepreneurs will have a first-hand look into seeing these outstanding women in action."
"We have a great number of female business owners here on Main Street, and with this year’s cookie season theme — The Next Generation of Female Entrepreneurs — there really isn’t a better place for the Girl Scouts to come than Manayunk," Jane Lipton, Manayunk Development Corporation’s executive director, said. "We’re really excited to be hosting the Girl Scouts this February. We see this as the perfect opportunity to not only bring families to our neighborhood, but give something back to those families in our community."
