Manayunk Joins Citywide Holiday Festival; Schedule Released

MANAYUNK, PA -- It's almost the most wonderful time of the year in Manayunk.

This year, the holiday season will hold something new and exciting for the neighborhood, as Manayunk has been selected as a featured neighborhood in the citywide Philadelphia Holiday Festival.

Small Business Saturday will launch on November 26, with an opportunity for residents to support local businesses with a variety of shopping specials. At 5 p.m., the Manayunk Development Corporation will be lighting up their brand new 36-foot Christmas tree at Canal View Park. Mayor Kenney might be in attendance, according to organizers.

“Manayunk is the perfect location to celebrate the holiday season,” Jane Lipton, Executive Director of the Manayunk Development Corporation, said. “Our district’s wonderful light display, decorated store fronts, variety of events, and our new Christmas tree truly convey the magic of the season.”

The rest of Manayunk's holiday schedule is as follows:

• December 3: Promenade of Trees
• December 10: Rudolph Run, food drive for North Lights
• Donate to “Thanks4Giving Clothing Drive” throughout the season
