Manayunk Named One Of America's Top Trick Or Treating Neighborhoods

Manayunk is among the best trick or treating neighborhoods in the entire nation, according to a new ranking.

Zillow.com, the apartment and real estate online network, annually ranks the nation’s best places to trick or treat on Halloween.

This year, they ranked the top 20 cities, and then listed the five best neighborhood in each city.

Philadelphia was ranked 13th overall, and Manayunk was listed as the fifth best spot in the city. The top five neighborhoods listed were:

1. Fairmount-Spring Garden
2. Chestnut Hill
3. Cedar Park
4. Mt. Airy
5. Manayunk

Zillow analyzed four key metrics to come up with their rankings:

• The Zillow Home Value Index, which shows the value of homes in single family residences
• Local crime data
• How close each house is to its neighbor
• The age of the residents who live in the area

“This data combines to give us the safest cities to trick or treat, where trick-or-treaters can get the best candy, in the least amount of time,” the study concludes.

The list was topped by San Francisco. The city’s Presidio Heights neighborhood was named as the nation’s best trick or treat locale.
