Handcrated Indian and Indonesian furniture have a new home on Main Street.
Furniture store Nadeau debuts its first Pennsylvania location Saturday with a grand opening in Manayunk.
Nadeau originally made a name for itself as a wholesale furniture supplier, Manayunk store manager Jason Smith said. Based originally in California, the company built up clientele and began opening storefronts as a wholesale, direct-to-public provider.

Located at the former Ligne Roset shop, Nadeau chose to set its 18th store in Manayunk.
"Manayunk is really perfect for the eclectic furniture we have," Smith said.

Billed as "Furniture with a soul," Nadeau specializes in importing and selling "unique, high quality, hardwood furniture and home accessories," and Smith boasted that their price points "give people great value."
True to his pitch, prices are easily visible and vary in the two to three-digit range for chairs, tables, and armoires—among other items.
The Main Street shop covers 7,000 square feet over two floors. Smith said Nadeau receives two to three shipments a month and everything on the floor is available for purchase—there's no warehouse or wait.
The small staff of three quickly turned around new merchandise, and within one week the shop debuted. Nadeau opened softly on Tuesday and will host a grand opening from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday with food and drink for patrons.
"I'm extremely proud of the staff and store. I think we made it look really good in here," Smith said.
So far, Smith said foot traffic has done well, even though the shop is still young.
"Some people have come in who knew us from before. They're happy there's an actual store here now in Philadelphia," he said.
