MDC Supports New Sushi Spot on Main
The proposed restaurant was discussed at the MNC's meeting Wednesday.

After six years at Chabaa Thai Bistro, Moon Kdapugthong is looking for a new challenge.
The operator is hoping to bring a new sushi restaurant to Main Street and the Manayunk Neighborhood Council is behind her.
"She doesn't have a liquor license and she agreed to everything we asked," Council president Kevin Smith said at the meeting earlier this month.

Yanako Sushi is hoping to move into 4255 Main Street and open its doors in February or March.
The 49 seat BYOB has agreed to the Council's new four-party agreement. Some of the requirements of the agreement state that a 30 seat or more restaurant include that take out end at midnight and there can be no service after 1 a.m.

The proposed restaurant will look similar to Cooper's on Main Street. It will have flat windows with doors that match the windows. Because the facade is only 15 years old, the owner does not have to get approval from the historical commission.
