More Roxborough Shooting Suspects Sought, Photos And Video Released

Shortly after authorities named 16-year-old Dayron Burney-Thorne as wanted for the deadly shooting, three more suspect photos came out.

ROXBOROUGH, PHILADELPHIA — Police in Philadelphia have released new photos and information regarding the gunmen involved in last week's deadly shooting outside Roxborough High School.

Shortly after police said Dayron Burney-Thorne, 16, was wanted for murder, multiple counts of attempted murder, firearm crimes, and other charges in the Tuesday, Sept. 27 shooting, police issued photos of more suspects in the incident.

The five males seen above are sought in connection with the shooting.

Police said they are Five males, all dressed in all black clothing. They fled in a light-colored SUV.

Killed in the shooting was that killed 14-year-old Nicholas Elizalde, of Havertown.

Four other teens, ages 14 to 17, were hurt in the shooting as well.

The shooting occurred at about 4:41 p.m. on Sept. 27 along the 4700 block of Pechin Street after a football scrimmage between Roxborough High School, Northeast High School and Boys Latin High School got out.

Authorities said a group of gunmen, which police said included Burney-Thorne, waited for the victims in a 2020 Ford Explorer before getting out and firing at least 64 rounds at the victims.

Elizaldewas shot in the chest and was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 5:09 p.m.

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the right arm and left leg; a 14-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to the left thigh; a 15-year-old boy was shot in the left leg; and a 14-year-old boy suffered a graze wound to the right ankle.

All were taken to various hospitals and were last listed in stable condition.

A $45,000 reward is being offered by the city for information leading to an arrest and conviction of those responsible in the shooting.
