Mt. Airy Hosts 4th Annual Mac And Cheese Cook-Off: Who Has The City's Best?

Who has the city's best mac and cheese? Yards Brewing, live music, and much more will be on hand.

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- The Fourth Annual Mac and Cheese Cook-off fundraiser will take place on October 16 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Mt. Airy.

Hosted by the Big Backyard Nursery School, the event features savory, spicy, and straightforward entries from some of city’s most beloved chefs.

According to a press release, participants include Fork, Chef Rob Marzinsky, Say Cheese Food Truck, and Street Food Philly, and many more.

The family-friendly event features beer from Philadelphia’s Yards Brewing Co., mac & cheese creations with Severino pasta, coffee by Rival Bros., Weckerly’s ice cream, and live music.

“This year, we will be working to grow the culture of art at the Big Backyard both inside and outside of the classroom,” says art teacher Rachael Schwartzman. “Some of the goals for work with BBY include establishing a dedicated arts studio and a community within and around that space, and collaborating with teachers to support a project-based visual artwork-connected classroom curriculum.”

Proceeds from tickets support the professional development of The Big Backyard’s staff.

Tickets are $12 per person or $30 per family and can be purchased at the event or via bbymacncheese.eventbrite.com
