Mummers Mardi Gras Parade Leaving Manayunk

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA – Bas news for fans of the Mummers' Manayunk Mardi Gras parade and event: it is moving out of Manayunk in 2019.

The Mummers Mardi Gras group posted on Facebook Monday saying they are relocating the event next year.

"Our team would like to thank Manayunk.com and all of the businesses who welcomed our Mummers tradition to Main Street over the past four years," the group wrote. "We will be moving Mummers Mardi Gras to a new location in 2019 and look forward to continuing the celebration of mummery with the Philadelphia String Band Assn."

Where exactly the parade will be held next year has yet to be revealed.

Last year, Eagles center Jason Kelce joined the event, donning full Mummers garb and playing saxophone with the band.
