Murder Charges Filed In Roxborough Double Shooting That Killed 1

Two men, 32 and 28, were shot Aug. 27 in Roxborough and the 32-year-old man later died. Now murder and related charges have been filed.

ROXBOROUGH, PHILADELPHIA – A man has been arrested in connection with the Roxborough double shooting that left one man dead in August, according to Philadelphia Police. Murder, attempted murder, and related charged have been filed in the shooting.

Police confirmed that Terrell K. Carter, 34, of Philadelphia, has been arrested and charged for the shooting that killed a 32-year-old man and injured a 28-year-old man on the 7700 block of Matthias Street the evening of Monday, Aug. 27.

Carter faces charges of murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery, and firearms violations, court records show.

He was arrested Sept. 15 and held after being denied bail at his preliminary arraignment Tuesday, Sept. 18, court records show.

Carter is accused of shooting the two men, who were sitting inside a Chevrolet pickup truck on Matthias Street, at about 10:22 p.m. Aug. 27.

Police said they were called to the area at that time for a report of a person with a gun.

When officers arrived on scene they found the 32 year old in the pickup truck suffering from a gunshot wound to his head, police said.

That man was pronounced dead at 10:35 on scene, according to police.

Additionally, the 28 year old was shot in his right arm, right leg, and suffered an abrasion over his left eye, police said.

He was taken to Einstein Medical Center and was listed in stable condition, police said.

Carter is slated to appear for his preliminary hearing on Oct. 3, according to court records.
