New Creative Studio Space Opens In Manayunk

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA — Creative types in Manayunk and beyond have a new spot to record, film, shoot, practice, and more, as a new studio space is now open for business.

Located at 4145 Station St., MNYK Studios, Philadelphia’s only creative studio with a full audio/visual studio and event space, is now open.

At 3,000 square feet, MNYK Studios can meet and exceed needs of musicians, bands, audio engineers, producers, videographers, photographers, directors, and companies.

The audio studio, which offers analog and digital capabilities, was acoustically designed for the dimensions of each specific room.

Key features of the audio studio include:

• 32-channel PreSonus board (paired with StudioOne software)
• KORG and Komplete synths
• WA-87 and SM57 mics
• Yamaha mx88
• A selection of musical instruments

The audio studio can handle any recording and mixing session from full-length albums to short PSAs.

As for the visual studio, it is equipped for any small-to-medium production. The studio is available for rent for DIY projects or to book in-house videographers, photographers, and directors.

Key features of the visual studio include:

• 360-degree curtain track
• Green screen (available in white, green, or black)
• Green room with makeup and wardrobe amenities

Customizable lighting and backdrops for specific projects are available through a partnership with Lighthouse Lights in North Jersey.

The history of the physical space provided Muhlenhaupt + Company Principal Adam Muhlenhaupt the inspiration for MNYK Studios. The former space of Philadelphia University’s research center is now retrofitted for a first-class audio studio. A room that had been running heavy machinery is now producing tracks.

MNYK Studios is conveniently located a block off of Main Street in Manayunk, easily accessible to artists in the city and suburbs. MNYK Studios is currently accepting bookings and scheduling tours.
