Peter Zurbach, Saint Joseph’s University Department of Chemistry, discusses how microwaves interact with water in food to generate heat, what do microwaves and LCD TVs have in common, and other questions you have about the chemistry in our daily lives.

What is Science on the Hill?
Science on the Hill is a science café program that allows scientists to interact with the public in a relaxed setting, fostering dialogue and making science an approachable part of the everyday world. Each event will be one to two hours long and consist of a guest scientist speaker leading a moderated discussion and question-and-answer session on scientific topics of interest to the community.
