One Dead After Tragic Roxborough House Fire

The man reportedly tried to put the fire out himself.

ROXBOROUGH -- One person has been confirmed dead after a fire in Roxborough on February 24.

A blaze began on the 300 block of Krams Avenue just after 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to a report.

Firefighters arriving on the scene found smoke coming from the second floor and in their search o the home, found an adult male on the floor, the report states.

Firefighters believed the man tried to put the fire out himself before being overcome by smoke inhalation, according to Montgomery News.

It was the fourth fire fatality in the city this year.

No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
