Pearl Harbor Day Services Set For Dec. 3 In Roxborough

The 21st Ward Veterans Association will be hosting Pearl Harbor Day services Sunday, Dec. 3 in honor of the attack's 76th anniversary.

ROXBOROUGH, PHILADELPHIA – A local veterans association will be paying tribute to the day that forever lives in infamy for the 76th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor.

At 1 p.m., Sunday Dec. 3, the 21st Ward Veterans Association is hosting a Pearl Harbor Day service at Gorgas Park in Roxborough in honor of the Dec. 7, 1941 attack on the United States Naval base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii that propelled the US into World War II.

The service will include the pledge of allegiance, invocation, remarks, wreath placement honoring all veterans, rifle salute, taps, a benediction, and closing remarks.

The Gorgas Park War Memorial is located along 6300 Ridge Avenue between Hermitage & Fountain Streets in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia.
