Philadelphia Police Sergeant Victim of Hit and Run: Reports
A Philadelphia police sergeant was seriously injured when a car struck him and fled the scene early Thursday morning.

MANAYUNK, PHILADLEPHIA, PA -- A Philadelphia police sergeant was struck by a driver who fled the scene early Thursday morning, according to multiple media sources.
The incident occurred just before 1 a.m. when the sergeant was conducting a traffic stop with another officer on Main Street near Shurs Lane, 6 ABC reports.
A 2008 Toyota Rav 4 heading south on Main Street hit the officer, the patrol car, and then left the scene, NBC 10 reports.

FOX29 reports that the sergeant was knocked 15 feet in the air and that his shoes were knocked off by the impact.
The driver was arrested shortly afterwards in Roxborough, reports state. He was 21-years-old and appeared to be drunk, police said.
