Philadelphia Sergeant Killed in Roxborough Crash

An overnight crash in Roxborough killed an off-duty Philadelphia police sergeant, NBC Philadelphia reports.

The 32-year-old sergeant identified as Rafael Ali worked in Nicetown’s 39th district. He was driving south on Henry Avenue near Dupont Street when he lost control of his pickup truck around 11:40 p.m.

The sergeant was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:20 a.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
