Philadelphia Zoo Unveils 3D Art Installation
The Philadelphia Zoo's unique new art installation will help send thousands of underserved children to the zoo.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia Zoo has opened You360ShotSpot, a three dimensional optical illusion, open to the public from May 5 through October 2016, they announced in a news release Tuesday.
You360ShotSpot is a unique customized mural that creates the illusion that guests are teetering on the edge of the Zoo with animals roaming below, when in reality they are standing on a work of art right on the ground.
While perched on this piece of art, guests can take photos, which the Zoo is encouraging them to share on social media platforms for charity.

Here's how it works: as presenting sponsor of You360SpotShot, Xfinity is asking guests to use their voices to make a difference - simply visit the Zoo, take a picture at You360ShotSpot, and post on various social media channels. For every 50 social media actions that include #sendakid, Xfinity will send a child to the Zoo with the ultimate goal of providing up to 10,000 underserved kids the opportunity to experience Philadelphia Zoo.
Uploading photos will be seamless as the Zoo now offers free Xfinity WiFi hotspots.

“We are excited to unveil this fantastic piece of art," says Chief Marketing Officer, Amy Shearer. “The most unique part of this launch is the #sendakid challenge, which is a great way to get excitement around Xfinity bringing so many underserved children to the Zoo. There is nothing better than seeing the wonder on their faces as they enter the Zoo possibly for the very first time. We are thrilled that Xfinity issued the challenge and hope that thousands will participate.”
Admission prices for kids 2-11 is $19.00; group pricing is $16.00 per child.
You360ShotSpot was created by artist Joe Hill, a noted 3D street artist, who has earned the nickname "Pavement Picasso."
