A Philadelphia councilwoman will retire for one day at the conclusion of her sixth term of office, collect the $478,057, and then get sworn in again on Monday to her seventh term, according to a report by The Blaze.

Marion B. Tasco, described as “politically savvy,” is taking advantage of something called the Deferred Retirement Option Plan (DROP), according to Philadelphia Weekly.

DROP lets city employees collect salary and build up pension money during the final four years of their employment, reports state.

The program has reportedly cost the city $528 million. Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter has tried and failed several times to eliminate the program.
