Philly On Full Display In New 'Shazam!' Trailer

PHILADELPHIA — Philly has recently been getting a lot of love in the film world, with quite a few big movies over the past years being set in, and filmed in, Philadelphia.

And the latest trailer for the Philly-set DC Comics superhero film "Shazam!" shows off the city quite well.

"Shazam!" stars Asher Angel as orphaned Philadelphia teen Billy Baston who is granted supernatural powers to become Shazam, played by Zachary Levi, who is an adult with superhuman strength, speed, flight and other super powers.

Back in December 2018, film crews were spotted in the city getting additional footage of skylines and aerial shots.

The new trailer shows some iconic views of the city, including the back of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the skyline, the Ben Franklin Parkway,

Police cruisers, a SEPTA train, and a few SEPTA buses (one careening off of a highway) can also be spotted in the trailer.

The film is being released nationwide on April 5.
