Philly Man Tried To Ship Meth Via Mail: US Attorney

A Philadelphia man is accused of using the US Postal Service to attempt to deliver methamphetamine, the US Attorney said.

Philadelphia, PA -- One accused drug dealer allegedly turned to the mail as a way to deliver drugs, but his plan was foiled by authorities.

The Philadelphia man allegedly tried to ship methamphetamine via the US Postal Service, the US Attorney's Office said Thursday.

Nelson Rodriguez, 65, was charged with attempted possession with intent to distribute, and aiding and abetting with intent to distribute methamphetamine, officials said.

The crime is punishable by up to 20 years in prison, the US Attorney said.

The case was originally investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service.
