Philly Teen Mother Charged After Newborn Left In Dumpster Dies

A 15-year-old girl has been charged with murder and abuse of a corpse after allegedly leaving her newborn to die in a North Philly dumpster.

PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia Police arrested and charged a 15-year-old girl for the death of her newborn son on New Year's Eve.

Jani Morris, 15, of Philadelphia, was arrested and charged with murder, endangering the welfare of a child, abuse of a corpse, and related crimes, police said.

Morris was arrested at about 10:58 a.m. Jan. 2., police said.

According to Action News, Morris' baby was found dead in a North Philadelphia Dumpster on New Year's Eve.

The outlet reports a woman found the baby in the dumpster and told police Morris, who is friends with her daughter, left the child in the dumpster.
