Pizza Delivery Driver Shot In N Philly Attempted Robbery

He tried to deliver food Wednesday night, but the people at the address said they didn't order anything. Then armed suspects approached him.

PHILADELPHIA – A pizza delivery driver was shot and injured in an attempted robbery that police say was a set up Wednesday night in North Philadelphia.

The 34-year-old driver was shot at about 10:17 p.m. Wednesday in the Brewerytown section of Philadelphia after attempting to deliver food to a home on the 1400 block North Hollywood Street, but when he tried to make the delivery he was told that the residents didn't order anything.

CBS Philadelphia reports the driver was walking back to his vehicle when two men approached him, one armed with a gun.

Police told the outlet the driver drove off quickly, but the suspects fired at his car, striking in him in the hand.

The suspects were unable to take anything from the victim, according to Action News.

The driver was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital and is in stable condition.
