Plans Shaping Up for Mummers Mardi Gras Parade in Manayunk

The inaugural Philadelphia Mummers Mardi Gras Parade in Manayunk is just weeks away. The parade will be held on Sunday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rain date is Feb. 28.

According to Manayunk.com, there will be 10,000 active Mummers in the parade, which will go down Main Street from Shurs to Green Lane.

“Attendees will be treated to numerous performances from some of the most prominent string bands parading down the street of Main Street Manayunk. This winter spectacular event will allow families to enjoy all the pageantry of the Mummers in the quaint neighborhood setting of Manayunk,” according to the website.

Here is the schedule of events for the day:

10 a.m. to noon

Philadelphia Mummers Mardi Gras Parade in Manayunk.

Noon to 2 p.m.:
String Band performances in select retail and restaurant establishments throughout Manayunk

2 to 4 p.m.:
Restaurants and retailers will host string bands
