Pregnancy Crisis Center Opens Expanded Housing

Northern Children Services renovated Merrick Hall to offer more permanent housing for homeless teenage mothers.

A $5 million renovation project culminated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday morning at Northern Children Services in Roxborough, according to cbsphilly.com.

The pregnancy crisis center upgraded the facilities at Merrick Hall now include four apartments that can house four teen mothers with up to two children each, Newsworks.org reports.

The project was made possible through significant contributions from organizations including the Jon Bon Jovi Foundation, IKEA and Wawa, the report says.

Northern Children Services provides support, behavioral health services and child welfare for at-risk teen mothers and their children.
