Rabid Raccoon Spotted In Manayunk

Any human or pet that may have been bitten, scratched, or licked by a raccoon in the area should contact the Division of Disease Control.

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA — A rabid raccoon has been confirmed in Manayunk, prompting health officials to issue a warning for the area.

According to the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, the raccoon was on the 4600 block of Smick St. in the neighborhood.

Officials said any human or pet that may have been bitten, scratched, or licked by a raccoon in the area should contact the department's Division of Disease Control at 215-685-6742.
