Jerry Francis and Ann Bagley, of The Lower Merion Historical Society, and Sylvia Myers, of The Roxborough Manayunk Wissahickon Historical Society, will present a history tour of Belmont Hills. The community developed around the Schuylkill River and was known as West Manayunk with its many water-powered mills and its steam-powered Pencoyd Iron Works. The interactive PowerPoint lecture will show more than 80 images, revealing what this community looked like at the time of its development. Some of the landscape has changed, but some areas have remained the same.
