The Roxborough Male Chorus Presents Its 2017 Winter Concert!

Sunday, December 3, 2017 ~ "Songs for the Season"

“We need a little Christmas!” What a special treat it is to hear The Roxborough Male Chorus singing in four-part-harmony when it presents its winter concert, “Songs for the Season”, on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 4 pm at Leverington Presbyterian Church, 6301 Ridge Avenue at Hermitage Street, in Roxborough, the northwest section of Philadelphia, PA 19128.

The Roxborough Male Chorus will sing a variety of traditional songs and seasonal classics, under the direction of Conductor Kevin Chun with Accompanist Lois Terry on piano. Joclyn McDonald will be the guest musician and play the flute. Traditional songs will include Loch Lomond and Song of Peace. Seasonal classics will include Wilhousky’s Carol of the Bells and The Virgin Mary Had a Baby Boy. The Roxborough Male Chorus Trio will delight the audience with their smooth style and sound. The audience will be invited to join in for the favorite Christmas Carol Sing-a-long, too.

Producing two concerts a year, during the spring and winter seasons, the Roxborough Male Chorus began in 1923. Its first director, W.C. Ames, and its first accompanist, William E. Tippet, created the singing group for men, who loved music and resided in and around the neighborhood. Over the past few years, the Chorus has presented concerts for the residents of the Roxborough Home for Women and the residents of the Masonic Village of Lafayette Hill.
