Roxborough Male Chorus Sings Winter Concert

The Roxborough Male Chorus...for men who love to sing!

The Roxborough Male Chorus, singing a variety of favorite classics, will present its Winter Concert “The Most Wonderful Time” on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Leverington Presbyterian Church, 6301 Ridge Avenue at Hermitage Street, in Roxborough, the northwest section of Philadelphia, PA. Welcome Scott Santo as the new Director of the RMC. Lois Terry will accompany on piano.

Members will open the Winter Concert with the classic “Salutation” by William P. Benetz, followed by audience and member favorites! The RMC will entertain with upbeat Beatles and Broadway medleys. Carols sung will include: “A Holly, Jolly Christmas”, “White Christmas”, and “Go Tell It on the Mountain”. The audience will be invited to join in for the favorite Christmas Carol Singalong, too.

Producing two concerts a year, during the spring and winter seasons, the Roxborough Male Chorus began in 1923. Its first director, W.C. Ames, and its first accompanist, William E. Tippet, created the singing group for men, who loved music and resided in and around the neighborhood. Members of the Roxborough Male Chorus display their musical talents (including barbership style) and versatility singing a variety of love songs, classical pieces, sacred and patriotic tunes, and members’ personal favorites. The chorus will share this Winter Concert with the residents of the Masonic Village of Lafayette Hill.
