Roxborough Man Accused Of Killing Two While DUI To Stand Trial

Kenneth Ruch allegedly drive drunk on Jan. 28 and killed a 19-year-old woman and her 10-year-old sister.

A Roxborough man accused of killing two young sisters while driving drunk is set to stand trial after waiving his preliminary hearing Wednesday.

Kenneth Ruch, 48, will appear in a commons pleas court to answer to eight charges, including homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and involuntary manslaughter, according to court documents.

A trial date has not been set, court documents show.

Ruch was released on Jan. 30 after posting 10 percent of $250,000 bail, court records show.

Ruch is accused of killing 19-year-old Kimberly Phillips and her 10-year-old sister Loraya Braxton during a Jan. 28 incident on Large Street, according to Philly.com.

Ruch was traveling southbound and saw the light change as he neared the Large Street intersection, according to the outlet. He then allegedly swerved into the left lane hoping to beat the light, striking the sisters.
