Catholic Official Stole $535K From Delco Retirement Home: U.S. Attorney
William Dombrow, 77, faces up to 80 years prison time if found guilty.

A Delaware County monsignor has been accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from a Catholic retirement home in Darby, according to Acting United States Attorney Louis D. Lappen's office. If found guilty, he faces up to 80 years prison time.
According to Lappen's office, William Dombrow, 77, of Darby, has been charged with four counts of wire fraud after allegedly diverting money from the Villa Saint Joseph Retirement Home in Darby.
From December 2007 through May 2016, Dombrow allegedly diverted $535,000 from the home where he was in control of the home's bank account, Lappen's office said.

Lappen's office said the bank account was funded by gifts from wills and life insurance proceeds that were intended for the Archdiocese.
Dombrow, who serves as a Monsignor in the Archdiocese, is on administrative leave, according to Lappen's office.

Should Dombrow be convicted, he faces a maximum 80 years prison time, fines, and three years supervised release.
