Sara Bareilles To Perform, Campaign For Hillary Clinton In Philadelphia

On the day that Donald Trump and Mike Pence speak in King of Prussia, Grammy and Tony nominated singer Sara Bareilles will campaign on behalf of Hillary Clinton in Philadelphia.

According to the Clinton campaign, Bareilles will "highlight the stakes in this election for women, millennials and LGBT Americans."

She is scheduled to appear at three different events, including performances at the University of Pennsylvania and in the Gayborhood.

"With more people voting in this election than any in history, Bareilles will discuss the importance of electing Democrats up and down the ticket and urge Pennsylvania voters to visit iwillvote.com to ensure that they have all the information they need to vote on Election Day," the Clinton campaign said in a statement.

Voter turnout became an even more crucial issue on Monday night at midnight as the SEPTA workers union decided to strike when negotiations failed. All subway, trolley, and bus service in Philadelphia has been completely halted. If a settlement is not reached by Election Day, low voter turnout in historically Democratic Philadelphia could be very damaging to Clinton's chances in Pennsylvania.

Bareille's schedule on Tuesday is as follows:

• 4:30 p.m.: University of Pennsylvania Organizing Event and Performance at the Rooftop Lounge in Harnwell College House, 3820 Locust Walk
• 6 p.m.: South Philadelphia Phone Bank at the Coordinated Campaign Office on 1551 Washington Avenue
• 7 p.m.: LGBT For Hillary Organizing Event and Performance at Knock Restaurant and Bar on 225 South 12th Street
