SEPTA Launches 'Travel Wallet' For Convenient Payment

SEPTA has also launched a Key Fare program for seniors, in addition to the convenient 'Travel Wallet.'

SEPTA has launched two new initiatives to make paying for fares much easier.

The "Travel Wallet" enables riders to store money on their Key Card in advance so that they always have the correct fare to pay for their ride. Riders can load money onto the same card until it expires.

The Travel Wallet can be used at turnstiles and Red Validator pads on SEPTA buses, trolleys, subways, and the Norristown High Speed Line. It's not currently enabled for Regional Rail usage. A minimum of $10 and a maximum of $250 can be added to the card. During the first weeks of the program, which launched on November 14, the SEPTA Office at 1234 Market Street is the only place where money can be loaded.

The SEPTA Key Fare program for seniors also launched on Monday. Riders 65 and older can apply for Senior Photo ID cards which will provide them with free travel on all SEPTA transit routes, including buses, trolleys, subways, and the Norristown High Speed Line.

Seniors can contact their state legislators for a Key Photo ID or come in person to the SEPTA office at 1234 Market Street.
