Shawmont’s Art Club unveils installation at Philadelphia Zoo

Shawmont School’s art club unveiled a permanent art installation in the conservation exhibition at the Philadelphia Zoo as the finale to a twenty-week art program.

The Delphi After School Art Club is a comprehensive after school arts education program held over a twenty week period at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Students in the program learn about a variety of artists and art techniques, tour the Museum's galleries, and create their own works of art. Shawmont School’s Art Club is led by Sabri Shafi, who was instrumental in the success of this first year program at the school. In addition to weekly art classes and gallery tours, the program included a collaborative, public, animal conservation exhibition at the Philadelphia Zoo, and a class trip to see The Nutcracker.
