Six Protesters Charged After Breaking Through Fence At DNC

Federal charges have been filed against six people for "unlawfully entering restricted grounds" during the Democratic National Convention.

Six individuals have been charged in breaking through the perimeter fence at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in July, the U.S. Attorney's Office Eastern District announced on Friday.

The group is charged with unlawfully entering restricted grounds while the President was in attendance, United States Attorney Zane David Memeger said.

  • Travis G. Martin, 29, of Houston, Texas
  • Lincoln E. Bohn, 24, of Manteca, California
  • Jacob J. Van Buskirk, 34, of Tacoma, Washington
  • Danny E. Nguyen, 19, of Gaithersburg, Maryland
  • Natalie M. Fraver, 27, of Portland, Oregon
  • Megan T. Munk, 27, of Forks, Washington

One of the protesters used bolt cutters to cut open the fence at Broad Street and Pattison Street on Wednesday night, July 27, the penultimate night of the convention.

The bulk of the protesters were Bernie Sanders supporters, although Black Lives Matter and various other movements were also represented in the protests outside the four-day convention which nominated Hillary Clinton for President.

The case will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams.
