Thief Steals Backpack With Laptop In Roxborough Area (VIDEO)

The Philadelphia Police Department is looking for a Roxborough-area thief who used an altercation as a distraction to steal a backpack with a laptop inside of it
At about 3 a.m. on October 2, the victim, a 35-year-old man, was walking near 5th and Sommerville Street when he noticed the altercation at a local mini-market, police said.
He tried to intervene, and as he was doing so, he dropped his backpack on the ground, according to police.

The suspect took the backpack and fled on foot heading east on Duncannon Avenue, police said. He was with several other males and females.
The backpack is Indigo-brand, with a yellow stripe containing an HP laptop.

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the thief in the video below. He is a black male in his late teens to early 20s, is about 5’5 to 5’7 tall, and wore a dark-colored jacket with white stripes on the sleeve and a white logo on the upper front.
