"Welcome back, Officer Davies - the department, the citizens of the city of Philadelphia and your colleagues in Montgomery County couldn't be happier to see you back in blue," Limerick police said.
Davies was shot in the stomach at the Almonte Mini Mart at 4th and West Annsbury Streets on August 14, 2013. The man who shot him, Eric Torres, had stolen the gun from a police officer in a nearby town and was being chased by Davies and his fellow officers after he fled the scene of a traffic stop.
Davies, who had served for six years prior to the incident, went into a coma after he was shot but made an incredible recovery that culminated on Monday.
