PHILADELPHIA, PA — Uber is offering a special $2.15 flat fare in a select neighborhood throughout Philadelphia each day this week leading up to the Democratic National Convention.

Uber said in a press release that the special fare is meant to highlight the city's diversity and introduce visitors to everything Philadelphia has to offer.

"Philadelphia is very proud of its diverse and distinct neighborhoods, and I commend Uber, as well as our local businesses, for helping celebrate our city this week," Councilman Mark Squilla said.

Uber was recently made legal in Philadelphia after legislation was signed by Gov. Wolf. Until the recent SEPTA crisis seemingly forced their hand, Uber and fellow ride sharing service Lyft were technically illegal within city limits, although they still operated there.
