Roxborough Water Main Break Kills Service To Entire Block

ROXBOROUGH, PHILADELPHIA – The 6900 block of Fowler Street in Roxborough is likely to be without water service until later Friday evening due to a water main break, according to the Philadelphia Water Department.

Department officials said the break was reported Thursday evening but crews did not turn off the water because the break did not cause property damage. Officials also said they wanted to provide service to customers during Thanksgiving celebrations.

Crews responded to the scene Friday morning and became working on repairs at about 11:30 a.m.

Officials said service is expected to be restored by the mid evening Friday.
