District Court: Assaults and DUIs
From the office of Magisterial District Judge Robert Ford.

Charges were recently waived against a Pittsburgh man who tried to attack two police officers following a drunken-driving crash, police said.
charged Paul Curtis, 24, of Pittsburgh, with two counts of aggravated assault, careless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Curtis will stand trial on the charges. According to a criminal complaint, police were called to a one-vehicle crash May 11 in the Green Street municipal parking lot. Police said Curtis's female passenger complained of head, neck and knee pain and was taken by ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Curtis said he was not injured, police said.

Back at the police station, police said Curtis began blaming officers for the crash while he waited for a ride. At one point, police said Curtis thrust both of his fists toward one officer’s face causing the officer to step back.
When a second officer told him to sit down, police said Curtis shoved that officer and grabbed both of the officer’s arms. He was subdued, handcuffed and taken to the Coraopolis police department's lock up. Police did not report a blood-alcohol content.
