Marc Elliot is the first Sewickley Series speaker of the 2012-13 school year. His message of tolerance and accepting differences, "What Makes You Tic?," focuses on his own disabilities and how people have treated him.
Diagnosed with Tourette syndrome at age 9, Elliot uses humor, powerful anecdotes and fundamental lessons of tolerance, to encourage students and other audience members to examine and rethink the ways in which they make assumptions about others who are different from themselves.
The assemblies are open to the public. You can also register to attend this free event at www.sewickley.org/marcelliot.
