George F. Kutzmark

Memorial visitation Friday, Oct. 7, from 2-4 pm, and 6-8 pm at Copeland's Sewickley and Memorial Mass on Saturday, October 8 at 10 am in St. James Church.

George F. Kutzmark, age 83, an active resident, formerly of Oakmont, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday afternoon, September 27, 2011.

He was born in Pittsburgh on July 1, 1928 to the late Frank and Frances (Sainiak) Kutzmark. In 2008, he was preceded in death by his dear wife of 57 years, Mary Joan (Jacobs) Kutzmark.

Loving father of Thomas Kane (Carolyn) of Penn Hills, Rev. Timothy Kutzmark (Jim Vetter) of Boston, MA, and Tammy Kutzmark  (Cary Easterday) of Oak Park, IL; proud grandfather of Jon Copernicus Easterday; grand cousin to William Rumpf of Emsworth; cousin to Ken Sainiak of Mansfield, OH. He also leaves his special friend Dottie Dart.

He was a graduate of Langley HS, served in the Army Signal Corps during World War II’s Occupation of Japan and obtained both his Bachelor’s in Business and Engineering and MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

Retiring in 2000, his management career included LTV Steel General Manager, Edgewater Steel Executive Vice President, and Empire-Detroit Steel General Manager. He was a member of AIST, MENSA, SCORE, and Sewickley Senior Men’s Club.

He loved to travel and recently visited his family’s ancestral towns in Poland. He was fiercely committed to family, loved being a Grandpa, enjoyed fishing, appreciated art of the American West, and was always reading and learning more.

Memorial visitation Friday, October 7, 2011 from 2-4 pm, and 6-8 pm at , 702 Beaver St.

Memorial Mass on Saturday, October 8 at 10 am in , 200 Walnut St., , followed by entombment at Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery.
