Jessie Hathaway (Hurd) von Hofen
She was a member of Grace Church of Edgeworth, a volunteer extraordinaire at numerous local functions and events and was head of the Chancel Society at St. Stephens Church for more than 20 years.

Jessie Hathaway Hurd von Hofen, 84, of , PA passed away peacefully in her sleep from renal failure on Friday February 10, 2012.
Born May 9, 1927 in Sewickley, daughter of the late Edward Nelson Jr. and Catherine (Stucke) Hurd. Beloved wife of the late John E. von Hofen, loving mother of Jan F. (Sharon) von Hofen and Jed R. (Gerri) von Hofen, both of Sewickley, Jill V. (Richard A. ) Wellinger of Lakewood Ranch, FL and Jane C. (David J.) Lesko of Annandale, VA, Grandmother of John D., Jack R. and Julia V. Lesko, step-grandson Christopher A. Wellinger, sister of Frederick C. "Fritz" Hurd and the late Gillen Taylor and Barbara (Jeanne) McMaster.
She also was blessed with numerous nephews and nieces. She was a member of Grace Church of Edgeworth, a volunteer at numerous local functions and events and was head of the Chancel Society at , Sewickley for over 20 years. Jessie was well known for her sense of humor, her lust of life, her passion for sewing and her talents involving the art of entertaining.

Visitation was Monday at , 702 Beaver St., Sewickley. A funeral service is at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Church, Edgeworth. Interment, immediately following at Sewickley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made in Jessie's name to The Robby Hague Memorial Scholarship Fund, 101 Crescent Ave. Sewickley, PA 15143 attn: Susie Abercrombie or Grace Church, 319 W. Sycamore Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15211.
