Marsena S. Neil

Marsena S. Neil, age 102, passed away on October 11, 2011, at the Forbes Hospice, Western Pennsylvania Hospital. Marsena was born May 14, 1909, in Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Jesse and Florence Stinson.

After graduating from high school, she received a teaching certificate from Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, and taught for one year in a one-room country school. She married Robert D. Neil on June 4, 1931, and moved to Ambridge where her husband was employed as a civil engineer with American Bridge Company. They moved to in 1943 and resided there for 44 years until they moved to . Marsena was a founding member of the Edgeworth Garden Club, a member of the Woman’s Club of Sewickley Valley, Sewickley Music Club, Chapter BN of P.E.O., and several bridge clubs.

She is survived by her daughter, Marcia (Ken) Myers, of Sarasota, Florida, her son, William Neil, of Sewickley, five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, her neice, Carla (Don) Floming, of Albany, Illinois, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, her husband, her sister Mavis Elling, her brother Edward Stinson, two nieces, and a nephew preceded her in death.
