Traffic stop

- Police conducted a traffic stop shortly after 2 a.m. June 27 on Route 65. The passenger Lee Unger, 34, of Sewickley, was wanted out of Monroeville for robbery. He was taken into custody and lodged at Coraopolis Lockup until Monroeville could pick him up.
Suspicious persons
- Police were called June 27 to the 800 block of Thorn Street for a report of a man lying in the grass. Police arrived but did not see a man.
- Police were called June 25 to the 800 block of Thorn Street for a report of a teen sitting under a tree holding some type of gun. Police found a juvenile with an airsoft toy handgun. The teen was taken home and police spoke to his mother requesting that he keep the gun indoors.
- Police were called at 1:40 a.m. June 22 to Edgeworth to assist with a suspicious male in the 400 block of Chestnut Road. Police said Gregory Miller, 51, of Sewickley, was in front of Hair Symmetry slumped over a parked car that didn’t belong to him, attempting to get into it. Police said Miller was extremely intoxicated, had a difficult time keeping his balance and slurred his speech. Police located Miller’s vehicle at Broad and Beaver streets with the windows wide open and the vehicle unlocked. He was taken into custody for public intoxication and transported to the Coraopolis Police lock up.

- No one was injured June 26 following a two-vehicle accident on the Sewickley Bridge. Police said Josiah Liptak, 27, of Aliquippa was on the bridge stopped in traffic headed toward Sewickley when a pickup driven by Frank Reed, 67, of Georgetown, PA, failed to stop in time and struck Liptak’s car.
- Police were called June 26 to CS Kim Karate in Edgeworth to assist with a disorderly man who was irate with another man for cutting him off in his vehicle and causing a minor accident.
- No one was injured following a two-car crash June 21at the intersection of Grimes Street and Centennial Avenue. Police said Corinne Dlugonski, 33, of Leetsdale was on Centennial Avenue and Susan Gaudio, 49, of Sewickley, was entering the intersection from Grimes when the cars collided.
Attempted burglary report
- Police said someone attempted to break into Wagner Agency on Broad Street. An employee reported to police June 11 that the front glass door was broken and the lock damaged. It didn’t appear the person got inside. Police took evidence for processing.
Noise complaint
- Police were called shortly after 3 a.m. June 24 to the Sewickley Legion on Chadwick Street for a report of loud music coming from the club. Officers observed patrons still being served alcohol and the DJ playing music loud enough to be heard two blocks away. Police advised the bartender it was time to shut down and she complied. Everyone left without incident, police said.
Theft reported
- Someone stole a woman’s purse between 2 and 2:30 p.m. June 23 from an unsecured locker at the Sewickley Valley YMCA. Police said the medium sized, dark brown purse contained $12 cash and miscellaneous cards, including a driver’s license and $50 restaurant gift card.
Animal complaint
- Police were called June 23 to the 800 block of Ohio River Boulevard for a report of a raccoon in a Dumpster. An officer retrieved the raccoon using an extended leash pole. The animal was set free.
Lost necklace
- Someone lost a yellow gold chain necklace with white gold bars and small diamonds. The necklace was potentially lost June 13 between visits to the Sewickley Hotel and Simply Yogurt. Anyone with information can contact the police.
