On Wednesday, December 9, 2020, Quaker Valley School District announced it is extending online learning through January 8, 2021. This is to coincide with mitigation efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19. The District arrived at this due to many factors, including COVID-19 data in Allegheny County and across Pennsylvania, the upcoming holidays, travel, staffing concerns, and state mitigation efforts.
As the District has shared previously, there is a strong desire to return to on-campus learning. Continuing with online learning is a difficult decision for the QV Administration and School Board, impacting students, staff, and families in different ways.

The QV community has been very responsive in reporting positive cases. It is asked that people continue to report positive COVID-19 cases to school nurses, even during online learning. It is everyone's role to make healthy decisions.
We will continue to monitor data and updated requirements from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
